A Tale of Nite

Sat Nov 28, 2009, 10:24 AM
  • Mood: Artistic
“Quite a peaceful night isn’t it my dear…my what was your name again?” asked the rather fat man with an eggplant for a nose and a face to match it.

“Nite, sir.” said a velvety smooth voice of a man. The man was laying sideways in his chair, his long legs in brown pirate boots and off-white canvas pants stretched out onto the table in front of him. He wore a leather bomber’s hat and a black airship pilot coat. He had one arm across his chest and the other was playing with the single loose strand of his oil slicked back black hair.

“Oh yes, Nite…” said the old fat man quite nervously taking a sip of his tea. “Do you know why-”

“You had me brought here from my important duty?” asked Nite rather harshly, a flicker of genuine anger mixed with annoyance flashing across his dark teal eyes. His strikingly handsome deeply tanned face screwed up into a scowl showing the pale scars from a past battle. He carefully placed the hair back with the others who were behaving. “No, I believe you were just getting to that, am I right?”

“Y-yes Nite. I was just getting to that. Now, I have a question about my rival nation, do you have any new intelligence?”

Rage flickered through those deep, dark eyes now. “You pulled me away from my mission for this?” He sat up now, bashing his fists on the table. “If I had any new Intel I would have informed you immediately, and, more importantly, you took me away from gathering more Intel for you in the first place are you that incompetent a-” HE stopped himself and then regained his composure. Joining his hands together and taking a deep breath. “Sir Duke, honestly, when I am done with my missions I will give you any information that you need from said missions, but you must let me finish them first. Next time, you will let me, is that clear?” He asked his eyes moving to the Duke’s momentarily, fear in it with a lack of response. “AM I CLEAR?!” Nite asked. The Duke nodded nervously. “I will take my leave then. Good night Sir.” he said with a bit of hatred seeping into the undertones of his voice.

He walked across the tiled floor, seeming to purposefully make his steps sound menacing as his aura. The door slid open in a puff of steam and he stepped outside it. He clutched on hand to his face one to his heart. His scars were vibrantly visible now and he opened his jacket pulling aside his undershirt to reveal a rather gruesome image. A window showing a mechanical heart beating in his chest with lights around it also showing the body tissues working with it. It was beating as fast as a bird’s.

‘I really shouldn’t get myself worked up over something so stupid.’ He sighed to himself. ‘Everything is going according to plan, the Duke is so stupid he won’t know what the hell happened to him after to-’ A loud crashing noise cam from the room behind him, the glass shattering into a million pieces. Someone was breaking in.
